Important COVID-19 update – Melbourne

In order to manage the risk Fronditha Care has decided to cease visitation effective from 6PM January 4 until 6PM Monday January 11, 2021. These measures will be reviewed on a weekly basis and we hope this current situation will be managed so the risk is reduced to low, and we can recommence visits by appointment soon.

Important COVID-19 update – NEwcastle

A Public Health Order issued yesterday, Sunday 20/12/2020, requests the following:

  • No visitation to residential aged care providers unless by exemption
  • All staff and visitors are to wear surgical masks when on the premises of a residential aged care facility.

Fronditha Care has reviewed the new directives regarding the easing of restrictions, and has considered the need to continue to minimise the risk to our elders of COVID-19. It is important not to lose sight of the fact that the pandemic is still with us.

Fronditha Care Thornbury care home will accept visitation from 28/10/2020

Today, 27/10/2020, Fronditha Care received a communication from the VACRC that the lockdown can be removed as of 11:59pm Tuesday 27/10/2020.
This means that from 10am tomorrow, Wednesday 28/10/2020, we will be moving to our model of restricted visitation.

Consistent with Fronditha Care’s approach to err on the side of caution since the onset of the pandemic in February 2020, the management of our HIPPOCRATES care home in East Mayfield has decided to move from restricted visitation to voluntary lockdown from 6pm Friday 7/8/2020 until 6pm Sunday 23/8/2020.

Update re voluntary lockdown – 7/07/2020

The rapid spread of coronavirus in Victoria is a concern to all. Premier Daniel Andrews announced today that he is reimposing stage three restrictions for six weeks in metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire to slow the rapid spread of coronavirus. These orders come into effect from 11.59PM July 8 until August 21, 2020.

The reintroduction of stage 3 stay-at-home orders directly affects all of Fronditha Care’s aged care homes and some community services programs. Read the full announcement here.

The attached letter provides vital information regarding Premier Dan Andrews announcement yesterday that Victoria will be going in to stage 3 restrictions from 11.59PM tonight.  There is increasing concern regarding the rising number of community transmitted COVID 19 cases.  As such, the attached letter also requests that you take particular actions that are within your power to support Fronditha Care to continue to protect our ageing community, particularly those residing in residential aged care homes and at the highest risk.  In anticipation of your continued support, Fronditha Care Comms & PR.

Fronditha Care’s rules of restricted visitation, as communicated to you on 29/5/2020, will apply till 19/7/2020. It is important that you stick to your appointment times and not attempt to visit outside of those hours. Fronditha Care’s rules of restricted visitation, as communicated to you on 29/5/2020, continue to apply till 30/6/2020. We will communicate to you to advise you of any changes to the rule restrictions in place.

Update Re: COVID19 – 10.06.20

The Australian Medical Association has urged people who attended Black Lives Matter demonstrations around Australia over the weekend to consider self-isolating for 14 days to limit the risk of spreading the virus.

Following this advice and erring on the side of caution, Fronditha Care strongly recommends that if you fall into the above category, you refrain from visiting our elderly consumers in their homes or entering our residential aged care facilities for 14 days i.e. until 21/6/2020 inclusive.

 

Update re COVID-19 – 5.6.20

Fronditha Care is doing its utmost to limit the risk of the coronavirus to protect its elderly residents and staff. We remind you that Victoria is still in a State of Emergency and will remain so until 21/6/2020.

To date, Fronditha Care has not had any cases of coronavirus reported amongst its residents and staff.

Update re model of restricted visitation – 29.5.20

Further to feedback received from you as family members and representatives of our consumers, we will be extending the days of visitation per week to six days a week, Monday to Saturday, effective from Monday 1 June, across our residential aged care facilities in Victoria and NSW. Visitation will not be permitted Saturday 30 May.

Update on COVID-19 – 26.03.20

It has now been one week since we implemented a voluntary lockdown of our residential care facilities in Melbourne and Newcastle. Fronditha Care would like to inform you that thus far there have been no cases of COVID-19 reported amongst our residents and staff.

Social Support Groups Cancellation

It is with a heavy heart that Fronditha Care’s management has made the decision to suspend our social support groups for a period of 2 weeks, from Monday March 23rd 2020.
